About This Role
As our Design Lead, you will own the design quality and consistency of Bayse across product, brand, comms, and marketing. Bayse is building a prediction market and trading platform, which means design is not cosmetic. It is a core part of trust, clarity, conversion, and long-term retention. You will be responsible for how users understand the product, how confidently they take action, and how credible Bayse feels at every touchpoint.
This role requires someone who is inherently a design generalist, with strong leadership skills, who can set direction and also deliver on excellence. You will define the visual and interaction standards, build the systems that keep execution consistent at scale, and lead the end-to-end design of key product and growth surfaces across web and mobile. You will partner closely with product and engineering to ship production-ready experiences, and you will be expected to operate with strong judgment, high agency, and a high bar for taste and craft.
You will also play a critical role in building Bayse’s design culture, establishing high standards, and ensuring we move quickly without compromising quality. This is a leadership role with real ownership, and your work will directly shape the product users trust and the brand the market recognizes.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the design direction: Establish and champion a clear design vision aligned with our goals and values, ensuring our brand is represented consistently across every touchpoint.
- Build the foundation: Create and maintain a robust, scalable brand system and guidelines to ensure cohesion across product, digital, print, and marketing channels.
- Shape product experiences: Drive user-centric product design across web and mobile, leading the creation of intuitive interfaces, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Deliver world-class creative: Oversee and contribute to high-impact visuals, illustrations, motion, and layouts across our website, app, social content, and campaigns.
- Lead and grow the team: Mentor and support designers, set a high bar for craft, and create an environment where people can do their best work.
- Partner cross-functionally: Work closely with leadership, marketing, product, and engineering to translate business objectives into strong design strategy and execution.
- Run feedback loops: Collect input from stakeholders and users, and refine designs while balancing creative excellence, usability, and business goals.
- Stay ahead: Keep up with design trends, tools, and emerging tech to bring fresh ideas and maintain a competitive edge.
About You
- 5+ years in design, including 2+ years leading, mentoring, or managing designers.
- A strong portfolio showing brand, graphic + product design execution (bonus if you also show marketing and motion work).
